Capi, market leader in electronics retail at airports, has opened a 140 sq metre shop in the Domestic Departure hall at Oslo Airport. The shop has been completely refurbished as part of a new concept line called Capi, The Travellers Electronics Company .
Capi renewed the tender for its Domestic and International shops at Oslo Airport for another five years in June 2011. This is the second Capi The Travellers Electronics Company shop at Oslo Airport this year, following the opening of a shop at Oslo International in March 2012.

The shop
The structure of Capi’s shops is based on seven marketing concepts but the design allows for flexibility and is determined by shop's size. In this case, the routing through the shop has been a focal point for the design team. As a result, the routing has become more logical than in the previous domestic store. There is also a well-balanced transition zone, making it easier for customers to look around. Photo and outdoor products and accessories are strategically placed near the entrance to attract domestic travellers.
Capi is convinced that this new shop will appeal to the domestic traveller – mainly Norwegians. As soon as the shop opened, a crowd rushed to get into the store. That’s a promising start.
Peter Wiggers, CEO of Royal Capi-Lux believes: “The domestic shop is well-designed and a good example of putting our new marketing concept into practice. We pay great attention to detail, whether on the brands we showcase, on the visual merchandising we apply or the service we give; it all has to be perfect. Our concept is structured and well-thought-out, which makes building new shops easier. I’m very satisfied with this shop.”
Maaikel Reiber, Capi Manager for Norway, agrees: “I’m very pleased with the result. Everyone has worked very hard on this shop and it shows. These two new style Capi shops take electronics retailing at Oslo Airport to a higher level and I am convinced travellers will be pleasantly surprised by the look-and-feel of this shop.”
During the shop tour, the commercial management team of Oslo Airport Gardermoen was positive about the new Capi shops. The concept fits in well with the positioning of Gardermoen airport as an inspiring and trendsetting airport. Espen Ettre, Commercial Director Oslo Airport Gardermoen confirms this: “The importance of electronics at airports should not be underestimated. Capi’s new shop concept is well developed and we are looking forward to an extended co-operation with Capi. ”
The Domestic shop at Oslo Airport is the third shop to open this year, and the eighth shop with the new design.
