The new frame is named after the Banzai Pipeline, one most powerful waves in Hawaii, world-famous for its tubular shape that is created where the shallow waters and coral reef combine to resemble pipes. Only the toughest surfers dare to challenge these rolling waters. These newest sport sunglasses from Maui Jim are designed to withstand the rigors of the toughest sports.
Banzai comes in three color combinations: Black with Neutral Grey lenses for bright, sunny days; Rootbeer with HCL® Bronze lenses for variable light conditions; Smoke Grey with Maui HT lenses to brighten dark days.
The high-grade nylon temples have pin hinges. The temples and adjustable nose bridge use Rubberon for extra gripping power during quick maneuvers. Key measurements include an eye size of 61 mm; the shortest distance between lenses is 12 mm; temple length is127 mm; and the glasses have an 8-base curvature for well-rounded comfort.
Banzai (Style #425, $159 MSRP) is ultra-lightweight; offers clear, unobstructed views and has superior impact-resistant properties. The polycarbonate lenses are digitally injection-molded for crisp, edge-to-edge optics. Proprietary CLEARSHELL® coating makes the lenses scratch resistant on the front and back of each lens.
Unique to Maui Jim sunglasses is the company’s PolarizedPlus2® lens technology that infuses nine layers of protection to cut 99.9 per cent of glare, 100 per cent of UV rays and significantly enhance colour.
